" The mission of the Alleghany Rescue Squad is to provide competent and caring aid to the victims of emergencies in our community, through prevention, public education, and emergency services. The mission of the Squad includes cooperating with other services and aggressively seeking ways to better protect and treat the public we serve."
Alleghany County Rescue Squad is the premier rescue services provider serving Alleghany County, NC for almost 50 years. As a North Carolina recognized heavy rescue, agricultural rescue, high angle rescue, advanced life support medical responder, and ALS and BLS ambulance provider agency, we are ready to respond to any call. From a person needing an ambulance for a medical call, to an automobile accident with victims trapped, to a lost hiker off of the Blue Ridge Parkway, to a drowning victim on New River, to a rock climber in trouble in Stone Mountain State Park, we are ready to help.
We are fully volunteer, and non-profit. We are made up of a group of dedicated individuals that have taken time from their regular lives and jobs to be professional and effective highly-trained rescuers to serve the needs of our community, all at no cost to those whom we provide services. We are on-call for response 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Are you ready to join us and help make a difference?
Whether you help through monetary donations, supporting our members, volunteering your own time as a member, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, we thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
We are nonprofit, and we are fully volunteer. A small percentage of our funds come from government and grants. The rescue squad relies on our fundraisers and donations to continue to provide services which are provided at no cost to victims.
